Knock Knock, anybody home

Randy recently filled up the bird feeder that we put in the window flower boxes this year. The squirrels have been on and off it most of the winter. This guy must have been really hungry because he sat up there for at least 15 minutes, pigging out. I told LAD he was a pig. He said "No he's not momma, he's a squirrel!" I stand corrected.















Do a little dance, make a little love, get down tonight. Sorry, that just popped into my head when I was looking at this picture!














"Want to see my Penguin on a stick?" I dunno, some project LAD did at daycare, cut the penguin picture from an orange juice container and taped it to a popsicle stick and he happened to have it handy this day!

Weekend Creative

Inspired by this Ali Edwards Weekend Creative blog post, LAD and I made our version of a mobile. We recycled empty ribbon spools and a tree branch! So now this hangs in the kitchen. It took us a couple weekends to finish it and LAD helped in every step. He especially liked punching all those butterflies. We still have A LOT left! It was a nice springy project to do when it was so blah-yucky-brown outside.

Stack Stack Stack

This was still March, but just dressed in Halloween Orange!!! He
finally had to get on the table to be able to reach the top. It
eventually crashed down, but he did pretty good stacking those towers!!!

Spring, this way, here spring!

This was still March, still cold, wet, rainy, snowy, yucky, brown.

Train spoiled

Ok, he's only 2. Does he really need an electric train? Yes, when it's on clearance at KMart for 75% off. He couldn't stand to leave it in the box, not that he really knew what it was, besides Thomas. So we set it up until he got bored with it, mostly because we made him leave the cars on the track and he couldn't really play with them. He did have fun building tunnels too. Then I finally packed it back up and put it away. Hey, at least we know it works!. Note to self: don't forget to find it at some future Christmas or Birthday and give it to him, again!

Train crazy

LAD loves his trains. Thanks to Grant and family donation of train paraphenalia, we have A LOT of train STUFF. We'll set up the track and it'll stay intact for a few days or upto a week maybe, then it will be destroyed and has to be rebuilt. Or totally switched out with the other track (plastic take-a-long kind). Then we start over and do it all again.

Art

Some recent Artwork projects LAD has brought home. Those are not 4 leaf clovers, they are Shamrocks. I was set straight about calling them 4 leaf clovers. Banana peels were used for one of these, can you guess which one? Another they used corn syrup and something else and probably something else to make fish tank water.

Travel to Fort Wayne, Indiana

Back in March I had to go to Fort Wayne, Indiana for work. Thru Chicago. Need I say more. Flights were delayed when leaving Des Moines, high winds at Chicago and they were down to 2 runways, but I finally made it there.
Fort Wayne has a very nice airport, with FREE wireless internet. They also have a nice Aviation Museum with a huge collection of memorabilia from the area. That scrapbook in the picture here was HUGE. About 2.5 x 1.5 feet, at least. I would have loved to thumb thru that!
On the way back, once I got to Chicago, my flight to Des Moines was delayed due to weather, snow, of course. Then eventually cancelled due to a mechanical. Nice. So I spent the night, thanks to AA, at some random Chicago hotel. The next day was sunny and bright! Lesson re-learned, AVOID CHICAGO AT ALL COSTS!!! Not just due to their international airport, but to Chicago's outlook on general aviation altogether.

Easter

Ok, so I"m trying to catch up on pictures. Here's way back in March at Easter time. LAD had fun coloring eggs. We only did 1 dozen and that was not near enough for him!!! We went up-town for the Easter Egg Hunt but it was very cold. LAD got a little goodie bag of candy. He was very excited to get a sucker!!! Later we hid the Easter eggs in the house and LAD found them all. We also have a couple dozen plastic eggs scattered all around!
