Journal Your Christmas 2008, week 1

Whew, got this caught up this weekend. Been taking photos all along and doing some journaling, and finally got time to print and assemble.
I'm doing a combination of Journal Your Christmas with December Daily.
Here's how it's turning out so far...
I may put a different photo just behind the cover of this. But this looks OK for now! Lots of fun colors here!

Dec 1) I stapled the photo right to the back of the transparency.

The photo on the right is backed by the sunset photo.

Then on the back of 3

I typed my journaling right on the photo then printed it out. Backed it with patterned paper for now.

Repurposed a glossy magazine advertisement for the background of this page, since I didn't actually have a photo of the event! Duh!

Another repurposed glossy magazine advertisement. I liked the colors of the word against the black background.

And on the back of the Think page

Printed two 4x6s and glued them back to back. Used a white Sharpie paint pen to draw the line around the photo and write the day-seven.

Did a photo collage in Photoshop and printed it and stuck it in. Did some journaling around the clock photo in white before printing. Drew a while line to separate the photos after I printed it, with a white Sharpie paint pen.

1st Week of December

Just some random photos from our week. I've been working on my Journal Your Christmas/December Daily album this weekend and will get those pages posted next. In the meantime, here's some pics!
LAD has discovered the LEGOs. These are the ones Grant and I played with as kids.

He's actually done very well with them, I wondered about the size of them. He mostly likes to take the tires off the wheels. And build tractors and wagons.

From today, Sunday.
Bed head. Sleepy morning. No, he didn't sleep in the box...only because I wouldn't let him...

Outside. Cold today, mid 20s, windy.

Got a few outside decorations up, and trimmed the bushes.

The 2nd week of December promises to be snowy. Stay tuned and stay warm!

2nd Winter Snow!

It started Saturday, and slowly dropped about 3 1/2-4 inches on us thru Sunday. It was a fairly wet snow and temps hovered just above freezing. Just enough to make slushy roads. Winds are supposed to pick up tonight (Sunday night). LAD immediately wanted to go outside and play in it when I showed him out the window this morning. So after breakfast we went out.

LAD wanted to get all the snow off the trees. Well he tried! He did shake the lilac bush (not shown here) of all it's snow.

Got Snow?

He started out with 2 cars, not much shoveling today. Then we worked our way around to the back yard and our neighbors grandson was out and LAD spotted him and had to go investigate. His mom and sister and G'ma were out in their front yard building a snowman and shoveling their driveway. These two kids were adopted a few years ago from Kazakhstan and now live in California. They had never built a snowman before! They also made snowangels, LAD included!

They had great fun and I think LAD was in heaven having someone to play with besides mommy. And push him around on his tractor, a lot!

He was tuckered out by the time we finally went inside, but he skipped his nap today and conked out in about 1 minute when he finally got still in his bed at 7:00!

Well it's December 1, can you believe it???
Neither can I. Granted it's only :58 minutes into December as I write this...
I finally got my album prepared for daily entries for Journal Your Christmas / December Daily. I'm combining the projects this year in hopes of completing each day.

Journal Your Christmas 2008

It's time again for Journal Your Christmas with Shimelle.
Last year I Journaled My Christmas, or at least most of it...Here's a few of the posts I had about it. I was looking thru the book the other day and actually finished more pages than I remembered.
The concept is to record something each day of December and into early January. It was a fun project but I decided that I better get my book prepared first in order to be able to get it done again this year. I have started on that and I think this year I will have a combined project of Journal Your Christmas and Ali Edward's December Daily project. Which is a similar project about just recording a memory a day, no matter what it is, where Shimelle's project has daily jump-starts and specific prompts to get you going each day and creative suggestions for your pages.
With two trips planned to MO this December, I think I better keep it simple in order to keep up!
I have my book almost ready and will post some pictures soon.
