Welcome to February!

Our first week of February. Is it 1/4 over already!

Alright, alright, in his defense, he does have a lot of equipment hanging out there. This shot doesn't do it justice. He had 3 blades- front, (right) side, belly, plus all the salty-sandy crap in the back. We followed him into town one day, he went on to the county line and turned around and came back, so we waited for him.

Moon-set, 7:30 am.

Guess who he was, guess who I was?

Play-Doh and power tools. Don't get much better'n that!

Eh, who needs paper dolls

The best part of receiving a package in the mail is the brown packing paper that comes with it. We get as much use out of this as what ever was in the actual package. We have created several maps in the past. Today it was a race car. Imagine that.

"Cutting is hard work."

Approval?

On to bigger things.

Who needs prissy ol dolls anyhow.

Another Blizzard and finally-the SUN

Last weekend's forecast of 1-2 inches snow turned into a blizzard on Monday. Nothing like starting your week off with a bang! The next day the skies cleared, due to all the wonderful wind, no doubt. We finally saw the sun, and I'll take any damn resemblance to a rainbow I can find.

Almost full (30th). Ma has some too.

Rain, Mother Nature's next curve ball.

Rain, today it's rain. It might be a blessing or a curse. Not sure yet; to be determined. One bonus, the temps are mid thirties, for now...

There's a sidewalk under there somewhere!

Day 2 and 3 of ice

Our ice lasted about three days. Thursday brought a little melting that refroze as drips! The sun never came out in any of these three days. It would have been a dazzling show if it had. These were shot around ISU campus.

Refroze drips.

Winter Weather Phenomenon-ICE

Today we had a stay-home day due to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch of ice. We were very lucky to not lose power so far (knock on wood). When you step outside it sure sounds creaky with all the ice covered trees. We've lost some small branches, but nothing major so far.

And a little elf who would rather play in the laundry basket than anything else. Especially if Daddy will swing him around in it.

Snow by the feet, blizzards, freezing fog, now ice. What does Mother Nature have left to throw at us? Guess we will soon find out!

Winter Weather Phenomenon-Freezing Fog

For the last week or so, before today's wonderful ice storm, we've been having fog. Lots of it. Some of it the freezing variety. This is actually my favorite winter weather phenomenon. It makes everything all ghosty white.

Even the icicles are not immune.

Better to have an outlined target.
