rainy soccer day

Looks like a pro doesn't he. At least at having his photo taken! Imagine that!

Ready for some action.

By the time we got home it had started raining so he had to swap out normal shoes for his rubber boots to "go splash in the puddles". OK, sure, why not. and to put the umbrella to good use.

heard

I like getting to fly in the airplanes that let you listen to the airport frequency. I heard this tonight, at Chicago, a city known for being run by rats (towards general aviation, at least), reported by another airplane. "eagle 123 to ground control, we just had service truck numbr 12345 cut in front of us as we taxied" ground: "ok we'll pass it on." so ok that's pretty normal. Then eagle123 says "oh and ground, there's a GIANT rat crossing taxiway tango for alpha". I couldn't help but bust out laughing. The rat must have cut him off too! Maybe he was following the food service truck!

Northerly

Meetings cancelled for today. Why is it Friday meetings are never cancelled? So we departed Lansing this morning headed to Middleton area for a farm visit to update their PCDART software. After that I headed to Bay City to visit my former coworker and friend Susan and her son Evan. We had a nice supper and saw the sights. Evan has a pedal tractor just like LAD. And he's a fast peddler! I even got to see Zelda (no photo), Zoe's (cat) sister.

Diego

Tonight I had dinner with a colleague at the Stillwater Grill in the Lansing, MI area. This fine patron spends his days and nights just hanging out. This is Diego, friendly soul from Wyoming who had a magic spell cast upon him and this is how he remains. I wonder if he's a good tipper? I bet he's anchored to the stool and bar pretty well though, what with all the drunks walking by him after vacating nearby barstools. Ha. :)

Baby Booters Soccer practice

I did have a few better photos, but somehow lost them on import and didn't realize it until I had already cleared them from my camera. I never, ever delete them from my card in the camera until after I know they're on the hard drive, but this one time...and the thought went thru my head--better make sure they're in Lightroom first-- but I ignored the little naggy voice and deleted anyway. Sigh, oh well. I'm certain there will be many more soccer photos ops to come!

More sand work from yesterday

Not sure how he kept from falling flat on his belly while doing this. He was breathing hard afterwards, looks like a good workout!

Camp-cation

Nothing better to a 3 year old than camping in the backyard. Complete with cat! And wireless internet!

Happy, happy, happy

How can you look at this and not smile? It was even more impressive to see all 12 versions of this colored by 12 little people who still believe in the magic of rainbows all lying on the floor together, paint drying. Here's hoping your weekend is filled with lots of color!

Inspiration on display

For about the last year and a half I've been doing design team work for the local scrapbook store in Ankeny, Memory Bound. The most recent projects I have turned in were for the Fall season. I kind of went crazy and came up with all kinds of fun projects. Tonight LAD and I had to go down to the store so I could deliver a different project and this is what greeted us when we walked in. Hello Jan and Jamie! Bet you never thought you'd be on display in a scrapbook store! These were all fun projects and it was neat to see them being shown off! The ladies at the store always do a nice job of displaying products and ideas in an inspirational way.
