Moon Eclipse

Tonight was the night. A full lunar eclipse. We had light overcast that got worst at the full part of the eclipse. It was 5 degrees out at 9:00 pm. This was a heat wave compared to this morning's -14 below. This was using a 500 mm lens on Nikon D100, so turns it into a 750 mm I think. Ma will correct me if i'm wrong :) . Click here to view the album with more shots. Later, after it was over and done-with, the skys are clear and the temps have only dropped to 3.
I don't think there's another full lunar eclipse until sometime 2010.

Coloring with Crayons

Bet you thought this would be about LAD, huh? Well I guess it is, but not how you think!! I got to color with crayons this time! These were hand-me-downs from Ma, they're like pencils, give it a twist and the crayon part comes out. Cool. But they just don't have the same smell as a fancy box of crayons do. This was last Saturday, I was for some reason, inspired to do this scrapbook LO. The white cardstock was textured so made for fun coloring!

So here it is. All about how we spent our Saturday!

Tagged

I've been tagged by my friend Janet...so here goes!
A: The rules of the game are posted at the beginning.
B: Each player answers the questions about themselves.
C: At the end of the post, the player then tag 3 people and posts their names, then goes to their blogs and leaves them a comment, letting them know that they have been tagged and asking them to read your blog.
10 years ago: I was living in an apartment in Ames, had just moved from Raleigh, NC. OMG we've been in IA for 10 years!!!
Things on my to-do list today: Get PCDART (the software I support for the company I work for) interfacing with Boumetrix-their new version. Drive home from NW IA on snowy ice packed roads! (update-almost got the software working-figured out the problem. Didn't make it home, spending another night at Spencer, IA)
What I would do if I were suddenly made a billionaire: Share some, pay off our mortgage, invest for life then travel.
3 of my bad habits: ignoring household chores, piling up mail/magazines, waiting till the end of the year to backup backup backup digital photos.
3 places I have lived: Triple C Ranch, Norwood, MO, Raleigh, NC, Slater, IA
5 jobs that I have had: Newspaper graphic artist, Folk Art fine artist, DHI Technician, Digital Designer, DRMS Computer Support.
5 things people don't know about me: I've had Digital Scrapbook Layouts, Photographs, and original "traditional" artwork published in print magazines or books. I had a job I don't include on my resume, I was a "roadie" for a very good friend who was a, shall we say, topless dancer. I went to college in Colorado (but did not graduate from there, that was MU). I can't wait to trade my car for something with no drivetrain rattles. I have my pilots license, with IFR rating (instrument flight rules-clouds and stuff-it's the "stuff" that you worry about!!)
I'm tagging my friend Cassie, who just started her blog. Everyone else i might tag already has been!!!

Rocket To The Moon!!!

LAD's favorite episode of Word World is Rocket to the Moon where Frog and lower case Piggies build rockets and fly to the moon. We had to improvise, we've misplaced the O so we used a Q. This pic also looks like there's a frog sitting on the R! Ha!

More stacking.

It warmed up into the 30's today so we went outside and shoveled some snow. More on the way tonight!

Play!

LAD has discovered his "I Can Do It" book. Whew, after all those hours making it, I was beginning to wonder if he'd ever play with it.
Little Johnny keychain is very strong and can hold up to 3 engines, and pull a verrrry long cargo train. Those are some heavy duty magnets!
LAD is still into stacking everything, stack it until it crashes!

Sledding

For some reason Picasa will only let me upload 4 pics this way. I used the wide angle lens to they're a little, well, wide!

Sledding

We ended up with about 7 or 8 inches of snow on Wed. Randy and LAD hit the slopes. They went down, then Randy was towing LAD back up, LAD holding basketball with both hands-why he needed the basketball outside in the snow is beyond me-but hey, you try arguing with a 2 year old!-, instead of holding onto the sled and bloop there he went right over backwards. Standing in the driveway watching, I could see it coming, and thought it was very comical. Of course Randy dashed down to upright LAD who was not phased in the least. He was covered with snow on one side, but he didn't really seem to mind. Later LAD actually went down the big slope on his own and Randy would tow him back up and down he'd go again. Basketball too!
