The Mississippi River Museum and Aquarium in Dubuque was a very interesting place to visit. There is something there for everyone. Besides the history and aquariums, I was very impressed with the level of technology they are using in their displays. There's one photo below of LAD touching a fish on a screen, it was some kind of game, or something, but it was all touch screen. There was another rounded type screen showing a video and it was quite impressive too. They have Imax/3d type movies there, but we didn't see those.
Don't pass it up if you're ever there. Plan to spend at least a whole day there.
This was by far about the best part for LAD. Plunk in enough quarters/tokens and you too can be a ship boat captain, for a few minutes at least. Or a pirate, whichever you prefer.
