Wireless remote

Have one of these? (DSLR)

And one of these? (iPOD)

And, of course, a computer.

Then you need this:

It turns your iPOD into a remote for your camera. And it really works. A much cheaper alternative to the Nikon wireless remote, especially since I already had the DSLR and iPOD.
Check it out here.
The only real drawback is that the camera has to be tethered to a computer with wireless hardware. Which really isn't too much of a big deal since the camera needs to be on a tripod for this to work, very well anyway. Hmmmm, one more use for a nice, tiny netbook....

Prairie Festival

This is LADs fourth year riding in the parade with his daycare. The daycare and he are the same age, so it's been a tradition for him to ride each year.
He was very excited this year, he wanted to throw candy! We helped decorate the float a couple days before, so he was very excited about riding in the parade. The theme was blending with mother nature and one of the lead teachers was decked out as Mother Nature herself.

All aboard, take a seat. They had a lot of cute little fairies with wings filling most seats. But surely you need little elves if you have fairies, right?

This guy gets a GOLD star for negotiating all the turns and not smashing any toes, or other body parts for that matter. This was by FAR the noisiest float, not due to the truck, but the cargo it carried. BOYS, young ones, and a lot of them. Maybe a school ball team or something, I'm not really sure. I was so distracted by the damn truck and noise to notice!

The end. All the goodies given out.

Harvest, finally

Seems like we've been waiting forever for these tomatoes and peppers! If cukes were valuable, I would be rich. They had a very good year.

First day of pre-school

His shoes were in the car, we hadn't made it that far yet!

I took his picture, then he insisted on taking mine!

We have arrived. Feet inserted into shoes!

Cubby location. We took school supplies in yesterday. We also got to be the first to bring treats! We picked them out last week and already delivered them, I can't even remember what they were. Something sweet and yummy I think!

Saturday

LAD and I ventured out to the airstrip where the ag spraying operation is on-going. We took the bikes, and I rode mine a little bit. I'm back to my regular bike, no baby-seat! We finally figured out a bike carrier option. Most of the "normal" bike racks won't work on the CRV b/c of the spare tire on the outside. Oh you can find one that will work, for about 300$. So in looking for an alternative to this we found a cargo hitch rack at the farm store and my dad built a post that bolts to the frame of it for the bikes to attach to. It was 80$ for the rack plus 1 1/2 to 2 inch adapter and hitch pins, so about half the cost of a "real" bike rack. And this is versatile enough to carry more than just bikes! Plus we can use it on the truck too.

Anyway, here's LAD putting out fires all over the place with the recycled fire engine. The hangar was empty except for the Cherokee 140 so he had lots of room to zoom around. The battery lasted for about 45 minutes. Quite enough.

This is Roger's SnowMobile helmet. I think it weighs half as much as LAD does. He's kind of tippy when he has it on, but insists on wearing it. He's all about safety. As you can see in the next photo, he has his bike helmet on. Not quite so heavy!

On our way...

Wednesday LAD decided to wear underwear instead of a pull up when we were getting ready to start our day. He's done pretty well since then, with just a few accidents. He's ran around half naked, lower half, for most of the weekend and finally did the big deed in the potty, finally. I threatened him no more movies until you go in the potty. I guess he was going into withdrawls, it took him from Wed until today to finally get it all coordinated! This pair he's sporting on his head, I think were clean. What a goof ball!

Got to Golf!

With my old boss, Miss Mary Margaret. We had a great time and the weather was great. Makes me miss the Carolinas and the Ozarks. It’s another FULL moon tonight. It was coming up orange (but no photo tonight) (when I was here in May there was also a full moon!)

Seduced by a Carolina moon, sounds like the title to a country/western song.
